Public Hearing For Idaho Emergency Wolf Bill Stopped
February 27, 2010
There will be no public hearing on HRC043, Idaho’s Wolf Emergency Resolution.
The word I have received from sources say Governor Otter has requested that the House Resources chairman, John A. Stevenson, “suppress” this bill. In other words he doesn’t want it acted on in the Idaho Legislature. What is it that Governor Otter fears? What happened to the governor who stood on the steps of the Capital and announced he wanted to be the first to kill a wolf?
Tony Mayer, SaveElk.com, is encouraging all Idaho residents to contact their representative and voice concerns. He drafted a sample letter if you choose to use it when emailing your representative.
Representatives Stevenson and Shepard:
We are disappointed in your decision to suppress HRC043 Wolf Emergency Resolution as this is a small but very necessary measure to encourage our governor to take proactive necessary steps to deal with the untenable wolf crisis in our state.
We further request that you encourage and support additional measures and legislation directed at taking additional necessary measures to reduce the population of the Canadian Gray Wolves in our state back to the original agreed FWS approved Wolf Management Plan population level of 150 wolves.
Allowing the original introduction of the Canadian Gray Wolf into our state was ill-advised and a mistake in the first place. Continuing to allow the wolf population to vastly exceed by some eight to ten times the original 150 wolf level is catastrophic and is causing irreparable harm to our citizens.
Wolves are depredating ungulate herds throughout our state and are proven harbingers’ of highly contagious parasites. Wolves are jeopardizing the very safety and health of our citizens, our livestock and state wildlife resources.
We encourage you to fulfill the fiduciary responsibility you have to your constituency and to take whatever action within your prevue to preserve and protect the citizens and the resources of our state.

I think the wolves are doing much more damage than people realize. I will support anyone who is willing to get the wolves out ! Anyone that is opposed, I will vote against. the wolves should have never been reintroduced to this area. They were eliminated for a reason. I don’ hunt but know they are killing way to many elk etc. They need to go!!
How do I get my address out of the box!
Did you watch NOW on PBS Friday. It was titled, “Is Obama Breaking His Promise to Protect Endangered Species?” It’s about protecting wolves. You can use this link to watch the show and you a get an opportunity to vote on whether or not you think they need more federal protection. It was 92% for more protection when I voted. Please circulate this to see if others agree. I supported PBS for years. This program is meant to be taped and used by teachers in their classrooms. I’m sending my Senator and Representative a message to vote against funding PBS. They’ve gone too far.

I did not see the show but I heard about it.
I seem to find out more news about Idaho wolves from your blog Tom than I do from our local news! Thanks for keeping us informed.
It sounds like the anti’s are winning over the Idaho representatives.
They would rather have the problem escalate to the point that people start openly shooting the damn wolves when ever the damn wolves come onto the private property, or prey test people, as is happening, and then guess what ? They will charge people for poaching, or some other nonsense and steal from their pocket books.. Even jail them, and steal the weapon used..
Any way to collect revenue for their FUND is their game. I just laugh my tail off over this bullshit, especially the Maughanite Crowd, living miles from the situation yet condemning the people living with this problem for speaking out about the problems. It’s just like my haunts in the Sawtooth Wilderness, and the Frank Church Wilderness, my female family members refuse to go into those places now, the damn wolves walk right into the camps, follow us around, etc.etc. What a pain in the ass, and these pro wolf can run the world themselves nut cases all say,” well don’t go in there if you can’t handle it ”
Well I can handle it, and I’ll keep going, and I’ll shoot the damn dogs that get in my face, and the other thing about these wolf loving worms from distant places, Funny, I never run into these people in the back country.. I guess they can’t handle it.
Butch Otter is a pussy.
I’ve seen this my whole life people from hundreds or even thousands of miles from the problem telling the people who live with the problem how to handle it. Because in the book it says this. When the fact of the matter is the author probably never even seen a wolf in action other than on T.V.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s if you want something done do it your self. If you wait for your elected officals to help you get the job done. Good luck with that.
Well, I can imagine that EarthJustice and pals threatened to sue over this bill (and licking their chops at more EAJA money.)
Meanwhile, in Idaho we still have the 10j rule that allows us to protect private property.
It does not say in the Ten Commandments thou shalt not kill wolves.
In the ten commandments does it say any thing about killing elk, deer, badgers, pronghorns, bison, prairie dogs, ferrets, caribou, moose, eagles, salmon, – - ?
Did Jesus eat fish, did the creator authorize man dominion over the animals, to respect them, and to use them for mans purpose, and to kill them with as much mercy as possible so as to sustain the life of hungry men ? Including protecting mans flocks, and fields of produce ?
Do some men do bad things to animals ? Yes, does this justify punishing all me. NO !
The Ten Commandments translated from the Aramaic –
1. You shall have no other gods except me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any idol of wood or stone or metal, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven or on earth; you shall not worship nor serve them.
3. You shall not take a false oath in the name of God.
4. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not kill.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet … not your neighbor’s house, wife, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
God gave us the Ten Commandments to lead all mankind in the quest for Understanding, Hope, Love, and Peace, to walk Free of all bondage with a righteous loving God. They embody the heart of all good law. Each commandment has its own reason and rationale, and is designed to protect rights — The right of God to be reverenced for what He is, The Creator; The right of Him to be mentioned only in a holy way; The right of parents to be respected; The right to life; The right to property; and The right to the truth.
There is a being leading man astray, causing man to make mistakes and to harm his planet. It is his science, religions, etc. etc. Not the true believers of his words, only the fools falling for the counterfeit versions are responsible, you included Lee.

I believe none of this dogma that your are spouting:
” Did Jesus eat fish, did the creator authorize man dominion over the animals, to respect them, and to use them for mans purpose, and to kill them with as much mercy as possible so as to sustain the life of hungry men ? Including protecting mans flocks, and fields of produce ?”
You responded to none of the species I mentioned. Just man’s dominion over ever critter. Narrow minded as usual.
You don’t follow a dogma ? ha ha, Environmentalism and evilution are just another dogma. You’re comment was answered and you narrowly avoided it as usual. Management by man ! I think it is narrow minded to allow wild animals to run over the top of human productivity like farming, and rural areas.. In Idaho, wild animals have all the free range they need, and the wintering grounds they need, they do not need to be in towns or rural subdivisions. Proper management keeps them where they belong. In the WILD..
Greg
Nope, I don’t.
Dogma, accept with out question.
Science is open to question.
