Janet Napolitano: Everything Worked Correctly

December 28, 2009

I was recently asked why people in American society today do not take responsibility for anything they do. Of course we all know that asset has been bred out of our moral fiber…………that is, what’s left of it.

When a Nigerian man boarded a Northwest Airlines flight in Amsterdam, he either got through security with explosive devises or they were planted on the plane ahead of time. Either way, security failed and failed big time.

We now learn that one of the men who jumped on Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab and assisted in putting out the fire, saw Muttallab with a well-dressed man in the Amsterdam Airport trying to get Mutallab onto the plane without a passport. Did this not send up another red flag?

But never fear. Homeland Security director Janet Napolitano said everything worked great and “we” were able to thwart a terrorist attack. Are you kidding me? Everything did not work right at all. It was a complete failure and to say otherwise is irresponsible. And airline security did not thwart catastrophe. The only reason it did kill a bunch of people was because Muttallab was too stupid to be able to mix the concoction and make it blow up. Is Napolitano looking for a heroes welcome or something?

What is wrong with accepting responsibility while at the same time being truthful? A statement like: “Obviously we had a breakdown in our security measures somewhere and this is unacceptable. The Obama administration is investigating this and we will work around the clock to find a remedy. In the meantime we have alerted all airports and airlines and security measures have been beefed up.”, would have been more effective.

Now we have reason to distrust Homeland Security. We have reason to believe we are not being told the truth. And we are supposed to accept Napolitano’s word that “flying is very, very safe”? I don’t think so.

Then on Sunday, on the same airline, on the same flight, from the same origination airport, another Nigerian man for all intent and purposes repeats what Muttallab did, with the exception of attempting to blow up the plane. We are supposed to believe authorities who now tell us this was nothing to be concerned about? This was only a coincidence?

Did the second man, who locked himself in the airplane bathroom for an hour, not find the explosive materials planted in the bathroom? We’ll never know.

But do not fear. We have stepped up “security”. Passengers have to remain in their seats for the last hour of the flight and can’t use the bathroom. We are supposed to believe that will stop anyone from trying again to blow up a plane.

According to Napolitano, everything worked the way it was supposed to so nothing needs to change to stop passengers from getting on planes while carrying explosive devises? Either our security people are dumber than a rake handle or they think we are.
