Climategate: What Did They Say?

December 5, 2009

NBC Nightly News finally makes mention of Climategate by fretting that it would give, “politicians from coal and oil-producing states another reason to delay taking action to reduce emissions.” It’s too bad they refuse to see the damage this is causing the world of scientific research. Sucks when you have such a deeply embedded agenda I guess (not to mention the millions of dollars invested in “green” energy).

Gordon Brown, yes, that man of such high esteem and integrity. You remember, don’t you? He’s the one who let the Lockerbie Bomber go free. Yes, well, “Brownie” thinks those pounding the stone about Climategate are “flat-earthers“. That’s the kind of leadership that will resolve the greatest con job in history. You go Brownie!

Mike Hulme, one of the “scientists” at CRU, makes his case about Climategate about as clear as mud, citing that science and politics don’t mix and that none of us know how to differentiate between what is science and what is politics. Well, no kidding Sherlock! Which is much of the rub from the so-called skeptics. For those, including Mr. Hulme, who insist that it is only a small number of scientists who might be guilty of something, a lot of emphasis has been put on this “small number of scientists” to formulate a very deadly and costly analysis that played nicely into the hands of such washed up politicians as Al Gore. Is Hulme trying to blame us for Al Gore or IPCC’s decision to believe everything this “small group” told them?

Regardless, Hulme’s article seems more an attempt to deflect attention away from the real issue by trying to convince readers the real issue isn’t what the real issue is – if that makes any sense.

Perhaps what Hulme meant to say was what one scientist who had papers rejected for being a skeptic, had to say about the dangers of “groupthink” science, where a group of scientists are given money and charged with the task of finding out about global warming. The question asked is whether all this money would be made available to prove global cooling?

More “unprofessional conduct” but “has no effect” on the settled science of global warming. Yawn!

Put your “hockey sticks” down (sorry), take off the gloves and let’s go at it and get it over with so we can get back to the game. I always love reading articles that downplay Climategate and say things like; it’s only a small handful of bad acting scientists, or; the emails and information that got hacked are being taken out of context, or; the real crime here isn’t the fraud and conspiracy of fudge data on climate but that someone told the teacher on us, or; using the same fudged data fed the world by the Climategate hoaxers to prove that we still have global warming going on.

This is one of the biggest problems that is refusing to be seen by the public. This so-called “small group of scientists” were the ones the vast majority of people were relying on for accurate and honest information about climate change. This data has not been properly peer reviewed, it certainly appears an effort was made to cover up or hide pertinent data, along with demonizing anyone who dared disagree with the sought after consensus. How can anyone now use the data many of us think is flawed to prove that the data we are complaining about isn’t flawed?

Climategate deserves some honest scrutiny. There are just too many questions now that have been raised to simply shrug this off and continue on with proposals, supported by flawed science, that would have devastating affects on every human on this planet. To ignore it would be a travesty, both to the population of the globe and just as importantly to the world of science. If this is not settled, too many of us will never have trust in the process again.

Whatever happened to journalistic ethics? Here the Climategate scandal comes out, and the news sits on backdoor porches, waiting for the household to acknowledge they’re sitting there, starving to death for the truth that they are never allowed to partake of….
Has corruption consumed the entire profession?
