Minnesota Hunter Treed In His Tree Stand By Wolves
November 21, 2009
A Minnesota deer hunter shot a deer from his tree stand. He climbed down, field dressed the deer and climbed back into his stand to wait for the end of legal hunting. Evidently he could not drive out with his ATV legally until after legal hunting hours.
After getting back into his stand, several wolves appeared, interested in his buck he just shot. Nothing he could do really would scare the wolves away.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune has the story, complete with all the usual pro wolf talking points – wolves don’t bother people, a declining deer population is because of bad winters, you know all the rest.

If you cant blame declining deer on harsh winters it must be the dry spring that follows a mild one but, it cant be the number of wolves. I just am back from a ten day deer hunt in northwest Montana where wolves were balancing the eco-system everywhere that I went.Wolves have just changed deer habits so I am told but near as I can tell they are so stealth now that they dont even leave tracks. Wolves are great, and oh-so endangered dont you know!
The wolves are moving to Oregon and Washington since there are so many elk and deer in Idaho, I suppose the wolves think those Oregon elk and deer taste better, I just can’t imagine why else they would move on to Oregon and Washington with so much wild game still left alive here… I love the Maughan blog, “IDFG and those Noblemen land owners who control IDFG are filthy liars, but they tell the truth about ungulate numbers.”.. Get ready Oregon, to witness the truth about wolves and their liar supporters..
Aw now come on guys, the only reason those wolves were under this guys tree stand is because they just wanted to play. I heard they were bringing him sticks to throw. Had a buddy this year archery season stick a good bull during archery season, while he was waiting to follow the bood trail which was a good one he heard wolves howling in the direction his bull went. When he started tracking after about 100 yards he found wolf tracks following the blood trail, needless to say when he got close to his elk there were wolves on it raising all kinds of hell, said they scared the hell out of him not to mention he lost his elk. cute little doggies
He should have set up and went to target practicing then.
