Why Americans Oppose Obama’s Lecture To Kids In School

September 8, 2009

Let’s get one thing clear. I am opposed to any president at any time addressing children in school. It is not the time nor the place. Perhaps the president could have followed the advice of many parents I listened to who suggested he present his speech on the television, during the evening when parents are at home and able to guide their child through it. Even now, the President has made the only option available to parents who don’t want their child subjected to his indoctrination to be kept out of school. That in itself is wrong. The first option should have been one given to the parents.

But what’s the real issue here? Simple, actually. It’s called distrust. Yes, President Reagan and President H.W. Bush spoke to the children (which I was opposed to) but was there an uproar? Hardly, although some on the left opposed it. Was there a huge distrust of those two gentlemen?

On Sunday I told you about Doug Giles’ reasons he thought Americans didn’t want the President talking to their kids.

Call us common senseis weird, but when a person—president or otherwise—spurns our desires and he and his top advisors wildly misspend our money, mitigate our liberties, urinate on our values, and call us a**holes, Nazis, terrorists, Astroturf and retards, well, said person and his pals will not only fail to receive our respect or votes, but they have forfeited the privilege of addressing our kids—or our dogs for matter.

Put a different way (not in the style of Doug Giles) is Thomas Sowell, who this morning begins his column by saying:

The most important thing about what anyone says are not the words themselves but the credibility of the person who says them.

And this is what the whole issue is concerning Barack Obama addressing our kids at school. We simply do not trust the man and for me and millions of others, that’s reason enough to object to this action.

The media, still drinking the Obama Kool-Aid, refuse to understand the difference and they have let their ignorance and bias show again. Yesterday the White House released the text of what President Obama will say to the kids today. The press, and I suppose millions more Americans, actually believe that is what President Obama had originally planned to say to our kids. Of course it’s a rewrite!

You can call it more distrust on my part but there is absolutely no reason to think otherwise, especially in light of the fact that we know the “lesson plan” that was originally presented to the school departments and how they wanted teachers to help with the indoctrination.

The biased press has taken it upon themselves to use the rewritten Obama text to demonize those of us who oppose the lecture. Even this morning on the Today Show, former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, seemed to be sipping on Obama’s Kool-Aid, by saying essentially that it is ridiculous that anyone would oppose this speech by Obama. Please!

As more and more Americans are getting it and are willing to speak up, Obama’s systematic take over of our rights and freedoms is now running into bumps in the road for him. We have seen that the President doesn’t take not getting his way very well and all the more reason to oppose his policies when we don’t agree with them. Our freedom is worth saving!

    Dear Tom!

Right on! As a former teacher, we watched (with our students) memorable things: space liftoffs, space walks, etc. We did not listen to politicians during the school day.

If you recall, Hitler worked diligently with the children of Germany — for the future. It is so much easier to lead and mold opinion in children.

I believe parents who are alarmed by this intrusion on the school day are right! If the ‘little chats’ become a regular feature at schools, will parents continue to watch what is being said — over the long haul? I think not! Parents are responsible for so much.

Adding politics to the school curriculum is dangerous. Teachers have always encouraged discussion on daily events; but when the schools become a political pool to be ’swayed,’ I’m alarmed.

Children do not have the maturity to understand the difference between rhetoric and a real discussion. When they learn the difference (if they ever do), they will be more apathetic and/or hostile to government.

I am a republican AND an elementary school teacher. Needless to say, I do not have many co-workers that agree with my political views. My school did not show the speech on the first day of school because they wanted to give the parents a chance to opt out. They did however show the speech to the whole school a few days later.

I was given the option of two different viewing times, but was required show it to my class. (The principal even personally came down and checked to make sure that I had it on in my room.) I read over the text of the speech the night before it was broadcast and found it appropriate for school children, so I didn’t really put up much of a fight.

It wasn’t until the speech was starting and they played the presidential march to welcome the president onto the stage that I had the distinct feeling that showing this in the classroom was WRONG. Plain and simple, politics and the school day should not be mixed. I agree with your earlier statement that it should have been played later for parents to view at home WITH their children.

My fourth graders only paid attention to the first five minutes of the speech and then completely zoned out. I would have much rather taught the math lesson I had planned for that block instead.

So Obama cost these fourth grade students an hour which they could have spent practicing math. I’d love to hear Former New York & New York City Teacher of the year, John Taylor Gatto comment on this event, I bet his thoughts would be excellent, because his books are !

I told you once what I think of this time debate, concerning man , 7 days times 7 thousand years, 49 thousand years. The Creator according to Scripture Created the Heavens and Earth, the Universe, If so these ancient rocks could have come from any other place which is billions or trillions of years. Or the 7 thousand years is possible, for man as well. Evolution is a hoax period. It is flat out another false religion. And how many times do I need tell you if the Jesuit has his mitts on it run like hell fast and far from it !

Erasmus and Charles Darwin were both Jesuits. Working to destroy the King James AV1611 Bible. There is no such thing as Evolution and these two hated Creationism of the Bible. At the end of the day the Darwin’s are attacking the Biblical teachings regardless if one believes their Jesuits or not. Who does this suit? Yeah the Jesuits who’ve controlled the Darwin’s from day one. Professor Walter Veith, one of Europe’s top evolutionist scholars who happened to learn it is in fact a hoax and by who is orchestrating this hoax is the key to highlighting this creationism over fraudulent evolution. I have no time for the blind and their denial, in the land of the blind of the one eyed beast which rules them, proudly displayed on the back of the fake one dollar federal reserve worth nothing notes any longer.

  26. Lee on September 15th, 2009 10:52 pm

Gatto is a speaker to an aduience of little background.- not a scientist.

Continually you give me this unfounded fake science stuff about evolution. Get a brain.

  29. Greg Farber on September 15th, 2009 11:32 pm

Charles Darwin was no scientist. Erasmus was. I read scientists who mostly are suppressed and persecuted, past and present, Tesla, Searl, Moray, Brown, Rife, Hulda Clark, many others, Professor Arnold Ehret, James McCanney.. Stan Meyer. Independent science ! Not your bought and paid for only show them this frauds. That’s not true science, control control control..

Dammit Lee, Tesla, Moray, Searl all but proved we never needed electrical grids, static energy is all around us and we could harness it for free if we as man were actually free to do so.. Control Control Control…

Guess what, harness this energy, and these men did so, only to be suppressed ! No bankers would help them.. Who is ruling this show today ? Bankers.. Super elites and Bankers.. They do not want freedom, they want a slave planet…

No control, no grid, no dam’s blocking rivers, salmon in every stream, independent free energy for all, and true freedom..period.. We never needed the damned oil either..

    My brain is functioning correctly.

Your article strikes me as extremely ignorant and presumptuous on many levels. To claim that Obama is taking our “rights” is going overboard. I do not even think you’re talking about him. You’re probably projecting, as are millions of Americans, who can’t stand the fact that we have a black president. I say this because the animus against the man is totally out of proportion to his purported actions. I have never heard of so much berating and categorical denial of a person’s integrity. Obama wants to pass a good piece of legislation, Republicans oppose him. Then these same Republicans using demagoguery use specious argument and misleading reasoning to confuse the judgments of millions. Enough opposition of course will stifle anything he’s trying to do, and the, these same people point the finger and say “see, he’s not delivering on his promises!” Wake up. This is a schizophrenic state of affairs and it’s moreover profoundly dishonest. Since you speak of indoctrination, I’d like to know what are our children being “indoctrinated” with. At least you can provide evidence for your idiotic, inane claims!

Once again a liberal pulls the race card. I don’t give a shit what color the president is as long as he’s red, white and blue to the bone. Obama is not, now they give him the Peace Prize, get real, man we have a bunch f over educated dumb asses in our country.

  32. Bob on October 10th, 2009 1:37 am

“We have a bunch f over educated dumb asses in our country.” Do I really want to talk to you? Someone who has no respect for education and promotes ignorance? A presumptuous piece of shit such as yourself? If the issue of “racism” is broached, stupid people like yourself conclude this person is a liberal. That is really logical! During the race, many proved that racism is virulent and alive, but you prefer to bury your head in the sand. At least if you are going to express such strong opinions about the president, give some reasoned argument instead of resorting to cheap ad hominem attacks. Should we make you the minister of education? People like you are going to bring this country to the ground. The world is sick of people like yourselves. You represent the worst America has to offer.

As well, Gatto has written several very eye opening books concerning this government controlled public schools systems, for example, WEAPONS of MASS INSTRUCTION–A school Teacher’s journey through the Dark World of Compulsory Schooling.

DUMBING US DOWN–The hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling.

A different Kind of teacher–Solving the Crisis of American Schooling.

The UNDERGROUND History of American EDUCATION–An Intimate Investigation into the Prison of Modern Schooling..

The minds of men, and the minds of groups can be manipulated and controlled..

We have been losing our rights since the Civil War era. Very slowly, Marxism has been installed over 150 years. Especially every president since Woodrow Wilson is guilty of this mess we see today, And lets just drop back to G.H.W., signed the Rio accords, bringing Sustainable Development to America, Clinton signed and executive order one year later implementing Sustainable Development as the program to be introduced across America, this program was designed in a foreign think tank, it is Agenda 21 of the United nations Charter, for the 21st Century, it is communism.

Lets look at G.W.Bush, the Patriot Act for example, and his torture and false imprisonment program.. Did Obama undo all of this unconstitutional activity or did Obama Extend it all.. He extended it all..

Obama has a Congress which is democratically controlled, there are several Democrats against the recent health care bill..

All of these presidential candidates are CFR members, past and present, the CFR is controlled by London’s World Bankers.. And have been since the League of Nations became the United Nations..

It matters not what color a presidents skin is, black white brown or yellow, they are a CFR puppet.. All Knights of Malta, and who do the Knights of Malta Answer to ? Another foreign entity.. From Rome..

This president has deviated away from all of his campaign promises…Just like his predecessors have done dating back to Woodrow Wilson…And that Foreign Banking Empire installed in our soil in 1913..

I think the presidents name could be BEN….

  35. Greg Farber on October 10th, 2009 9:37 am

This seals the deal right here, you think your not mind controlled ? What has every president since Woodrow Wilson to Obama helped to install in American thinking and academia… Excepting perhaps JFK who tried to undo some of this, and his brother Bobby, who never made it to the White House..

    Ten Planks of Democracy=Communism

    1. Abolition of private property in land and the application of all rents to public purpose.
    2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
    3. Abolition of all right of inheritance.
    4. Confiscation of the property of all imigrants and rebels.
    5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
    6. Centralization of the means of communications and transport in the hands of the state.
    7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
    8. Equal liability of all to labor, Establishment of industrial armies especially for agriculture.
    9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries, gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country, by a more equitable distribution of population over the country.
    10. Free education (indoctrination) for all children in public schools. Abolition of child factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc, etc.

Bill Of Rights our founders created under the guidance of the ruling populance of America over a five year period (1787-1792). Back when journalists supported the people and Liberty and censorship was left behind in merry old King Georges England..See below.

    1. Freedom of religion, press, speech, assembly. (Freedom to point to the fallacy of existing government mentioned above in the Ten Planks and to call its followers what they are, communists. Their Founding Father is Adam Weishavpt and Karl Mordechai Marx, unaware to most of them is communism is centuries older than they think.).
    2. Freedom to Bear arms.
    3. No forced quartering of troops.
    4. No unreasonable search and seizure.
    5. Freedom not to witness against self, guaranteed due process, just compensation.

    10. All powers not mentioned reserved to states or people.

Now which set of rules do you live under ?

  36. Tom Remington on October 10th, 2009 9:49 am

Bob – Two things I will address with you. First what I “Indoctrinate” my kids with is what I CHOOSE to indoctrinate them with and there in lies the rub. People like you want to make laws that force us into your way of thinking.

You can think and believe as you will and I take no issue with that. Stop telling me how I have to live and think. I was not born to be your slave or anybody else’s. Spin however you wish, it matters not to me.

Issue two – You have the audacity to come to this forum and accuse me of being a racists while spewing forth the venom leftist liberals have taken up as a weapon of choice. Most everything you HAD THE FREEDOM to write on this blog sounded intelligent except that in your true ignorance and vial contempt against people who don’t think the way you do, you had to call me a racist.

One other thing, my dad was a school teacher , coach and principal. Education is the key component to a prosperous life, especially today. Three out of mt four kids went to college. My oldest son earned his masters degree, my daughter her doctrait, 3rd son still there and the 4th is still in high school, so don’t tell me I don’t think there’s a need for education. It’s people like yourself that are the real enemies of our country, it’s people like you that if we ever got into trouble on our own soil that would give in.

The Democratic party and the Republican party only differ in the speed in which either of those vehicles take our Sovereign status as a Nation and as a people off the cliff and to ruin..The Democratic party ideology is simply faster than their opponent. Why support either of them, second place to the finish line of ruin is just as battered as first place is..

Granting the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama provides legitimacy to the illegal practices of war, to the military occupation of foreign lands, to the relentless killings of civilians in the name of “democracy”.
