NRA Files Complaint Against Washington, D.C. Gun Restrictions Laws

March 30, 2009

The District of Columbia continues to defy the ruling of the United States Supreme Court in the case of Heller v. D.C. In that case, the Supreme Court declared D.C.’s laws banning guns unconstitutional. This hasn’t stopped them, however, from creating “back door” laws making it virtually impossible and/or highly discriminatory, to own a gun.

From the NRA website:

Under the current D.C. law, prospective gun owners are required to pass a written test graded at the sole discretion of the Metropolitan Police Department. They must also have vision better or equal to that required to get a driver’s license (even for those who just want to possess a collector’s item), submit employment history for the past five years and surrender all handguns for ballistics testing, among other restrictions. The current D.C. law is more stringent than California’s draconian gun laws and bans many firearms commonly owned and used for self-defense. Failure to satisfy these onerous requirements can result in fines of up to $5,000 and up to five years in prison.

My dad was a tail gunner on a B-17 and the right to bear arms was something he felt very strongly about. Not because he was that avid a hunter or because of the need to defend our farm that I grew up on, but the right to bear arms was always taught that it was one of the most sacred liberties of this country.

Every Man Should have a Rifle by Henry Lawson

So I sit and write and ponder, while the house is deaf and dumb,
Seeing visions “over yonder” of the war I know must come.
In the corner – not a vision – but a sign for coming days
Stand a box of ammunition and a rifle in green baize.
And in this, the living present, let the word go through the land,
Every tradesman, clerk and peasant should have these two things at hand.

No – no ranting song is needed, and no meeting, flag or fuss -
In the future, still unheeded, shall the spirit come to us!
Without feathers, drum or riot on the day that is to be,
We shall march down, very quiet, to our stations by the sea.
While the bitter parties stifle every voice that warns of war,
Every man should own a rifle and have cartridges in store!

I find it astonshing that in a country that was formed and structured to prevent “We the People” from being oppressed by dicatatorial regimes that seized their weapons, restricted their freedoms, collected usary taxes against their will, and as a result who wrote the Declaration of Independence to exclaim “We the Peoples” rights , freedoms and liberties as being derived from our Creator (and hence not afforded to us by men or government that they have any authority to restrict them) , and then penned the US Constitution which protected those rights by limiting Government authority and making them 1. answerable to We the People; 2. declare an oath of affirmation to protect , preserve and uphold said Constitution to prevent tyrants from entering in civil service; and 3. established internal checks and balances between the branches of Government to slow down or prevent a tyranny upon We the People, 4. Gave the citizens the UNDENIABLE right to bear arms in defense of their liberties in case that check and balance system became compromised via the SECOND AMENDMENT…I am astonished at how we have allowed leaders to slp in amongst us and usurp these CORE principles of our Great nation…it is by any account what our enemies abroad have tried to accomplish by vrtue of attacking our homeland or pulling us into the collective oppressive Global Government (aka One World Government), by any definition of Treason, this is it…people we need to stop this BS it is yopur civic duty as a patriot, all three branches MUST be pressured to stop this tyrrany, through elections and legal processes, however if they persist, then our internal Government checks and balances have failed, and it becomes incumbant upon We the People to remove the tyrannts using every means necessary, to include force…so stated our Founders, so reflects our Declaration of Independence, and so aimed is our US Constitution. Wake up people.

family court protection orders, I just learned the father does not have right of
notice he must sell his guns , and without such notice will be convicted in federal court per 18 USC 922 G8, as some know , the decisons to make
protect order in family court is made long before the hearing

How do I know the above is true, 2 years federal prison which means 18 USC 922 G8 is not a gun law, it is a gender based law that can fill the federal prisons with certain people, it means the state judge can withold notice than call in the feds and Dad goes to jail.

Got something to say?
