Milt’s Corner – Ft. Cooper State Park, Florida
February 21, 2009
Park of the beautiful Ft. Cooper State Park is Lake Holathlikaha. Because of drought conditions, the lake is some 8 feet below normal, I was told. The pictures below help to give you a perspective of that. The first photo is of Tom Remington working his way through the tall grasses that have grown up where normally it would be under perhaps 3 or 4 feet of water.
The second photo was taken not too far from where Tom was photographed. In the dried up lake bed a thistle plant is growing. Soon it will stem out and grow up into a deceptively beautiful flower.
