Stop The Push To Silence Free Speech

November 13, 2008

We are hearing more and more about reviving the “Fairness Doctrine” - an old censorship law that destroyed free speech and talk radio several years ago. We are also hearing about the possibility of extending the effects of censorship into the blogosphere and the Internet. This cannot happen!

I have just taken action to stop the attacks on our Free Speech Rights, and I’m asking that you join with me by clicking here:

http://www.mrcaction.org/517/petition.asp?PID=18771047&NID=1

Will The Fairness Doctrine Silence The Conservative Voice as well as others?

Will 2009 usher in a fanatical push to re-instate the so-called Fairness Doctrine? Such a move would effectively silence the conservative voice and remove the last conservative stronghold against a fast-moving liberal agenda.

One need only read the words of Dianne Feinstein to see the true threat to conservative speech that is brewing on the horizon!

“Talk radio tends to be one-sided. It also tends to be dwelling in hyperbole. It’s xplosive. It pushes people to, I think, extreme views without a lot of information … I’m looking at the [Fairness Doctrine]…Unfortunately, talk radio is overwhelmingly one way.”

Recognizing this threat, the Media Research Center has created the Free Speech Alliance which is a coalition of organizations and citizens strongly opposed to any such move to limit or undermine our Free Speech Rights!

Please take a moment right now to join the hundreds of thousands of Americans who oppose the Fairness Doctrine and all that it stands for by clicking here:

Thanks for joining with me.

This isn’t just about saving conservative talk radio. This is about all censorship that affects every American. None of us should consider the prospects of restricting another’s opinion no matter from which side of the aisle you sit.

I know I have liberal, moderate, conservative and independent thinkers who visit this site. Prohibiting the right of any American to offer commentary and opinion on important issues is un-American. Don’t allow this to happen. You don’t have to be a conservative to protect First Amendment rights.

To be sure, conservative radio talk show hosts have a built-in audience unavailable to liberals: People driving cars to some sort of job.”

For you libs out there sqawking about how we should all sit down and sing Kumbaya now that The One is elected….well all I can say is go pound sand….

We are going to have “moderate” libs knocking on the comments door of this blog declaring that I/we must “watch our words” and do something for the “hate” I/we possess for Obama.

Now that we’ve had eight years of demented and deranged Bush hatred, you are all ready for us to be silent and let The One do his Messiah thing…..hogwash!

Outing the radical, dissent silencing plans of Obama is not hate….it makes sense for anyone who loves our Constitution and right to Free Speech.

Not to mention our Guns! but the way, without the 2nd you would have no 1st to begin with.

Did you see that one of the questions on Obamas resume question sheets actually asked if they or any one in their family owned a gun? Really looks like he’s going to watch out for our right to own firearms. Could be a very long four years.I’m really getting sick and tired of these people trying to instill their wishes on others. We don’t tell them how to live or what to think why not show us the same courtesy.

Soon, the government may have the self-imposed authority to make us and our opinions all go away.

I hope this wakes up the loser Republicans who stayed home last week.

Like the “go pound sand” line, George…with almost half the country against him, Obama may be faced with the same “resentment” as Bush has been against, since his election….I sure hope so!
Looks like the Obama team has already started….:
“Barack Obama’s transition team has tapped Henry Rivera as the
new FCC transition czar. A longtime radical leftist, lawyer and
former FCC commissioner, Rivera strongly supports the so-called
“Fairness Doctrine” and could become the “angel of death” to
conservative talk radio by supporting liberal leadership in a
    move to quickly reinstate it.”
Thank God we still got the filibuster….

When it comes to a campaign that was all about “change”, “hope”, and new faces leading the way in Washington, a curiously high number of the same old faces may soon receive new gigs within the coming administration.

Oh, and watch very careful the possibility of Google CEO Eric Schmidt becoming technology czar. Schmidt is on Obama’s economic transition team and seems set to play a role in his administration. Say hello to the probability of conservative purging on the Internet as well

Communists have no morals, courtesy, integrity, honor, there is no honor among thieves. They are loyal to the cause. The cause being the decimation of freedom for all except themsleves. It will be a longer four years than you all can even begin to imagine, and then it will be worse. The change these idiots are gonna give is just what the anti-gun anti-hunter traitors to their own nation and kind want. And these people are standing next to us.

Having a liberal radio station has been done before, I’m sure.

One of the reasons, I take that back, all of the reasons it
never played out is, of course, because they have absolutely
nothing of interest to say. BORING as hell besides the fact they have nothing of value to offer anyone, anywhere.

Ya know, I just wish those Liberal liar news media outlets who do have free speech, even if it is only to their own specific liberal nonsense standards would at least get it right and then we would know foreshore we was seeing justice done, laws enforced and truth exposed, instead of the confusion, misinformation and utter nonsense lies…like here:
http://www.proliberty.com/observer/20070511.htm Then I wouldn’t be confused about who done what when and where, and why they really wanna steal my rights and guns from me. Looks like another Liberal lie put up job to me…with a little help from their DARPA friends in the defence Department, only thing is…who is they defending ? ME ? NAW, it ain’t me.

Imposition of some form of the Fairness Doctrine likely will be one of the Democrats’ agenda items for the first 100 days of the new administration. It’s important that conservatives begin working now to stop it. Waiting until Inauguration Day to get geared up is too late. By that time the Fairness Doctrine Express will be at full steam- wavering Democrats will be pressed to support the new Democratic president, weak-kneed Republicans will want to display comity, the mainstream media will not be saddened to see talk radio annihilated and much of the public will be too enraptured by Obama’s Camelot inauguration to notice or care.”

What is going to happen when people start bad-mouthing the
newly elect O like they have been Bush for the last 8? Cry
    Foul? More than likely.

Got something to say?
