Letter to Arizona Governor Exploits Tragedy
(Columbus, Ohio) – The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) decries the most recent effort of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to ban hunting in Arizona.
On November 11, PETA sent a letter to the Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, urging support of legislation that would ban hunting by anyone younger than 18.
PETA is attempting to exploit recent November 5 news coverage of a tragedy in which an eight year-old boy allegedly shot and killed his father, Vincent Romero, and Timothy Romans with a .22-caliber rifle. The organization claims that the violent act was fomented by a recent family prairie dog hunting trip.
PETA told Gov. Napolitano that hunting teaches “children to see others as nothing more than living targets.â€
“PETA always uses the most distasteful tactics to make headlines. In this case it is exploiting a tragic situation to advance its anti-hunting agenda,†said USSA Executive Vice President Rick Story.
“There is no reason to believe that banning hunting for youth would have prevented this actâ€, Story said. “A ban on hunting for those under 18 will prohibit thousands of law abiding, responsible sportsmen and their children from engaging in a time honored traditionâ€, he said.

I am always saddened when I hear of shooting accidents, really any kind of accident where people are injured or killed.
I am saddened by the worlds desire, to Change peoples attitudes into something unrecognizable to most who submit comments here.

Would it do any good to supply proof that even headed persons take serious measures to minimize such tragic accidents as these that have splashed the headlines recently?
Recognized as the most comprehensive youth hunting program anywhere in North America, the youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) is NRA’s “graduate studies” program in outdoor skills and safety training for young hunters. Open only to those who have completed hunter-safety training at the state-or provincial-level, the program is conducted under simulated hunting conditions to provide the best practical environment for reinforcing and testing a young hunter’s skills.
State- and provincial-level YHEC programs, hosted by volunteer instructors, draw an estimated 50,000 youths each year. Top ranked individuals advance to the annual NRA International Youth Hunter Education Challenge, the pinnacle of the program.
Since its inception in 1985, YHEC has reached more than a million young sportsmen and women.

We have real problems in our society when we say you can give your 8 year old kid a loaded Uzi to shoot at pumpkins but they have to wait to drink until they’re 21. Oh, but they can go to war at 18.
At what age is a child an adult? At 8? At 18? At 21? Certainly not at 8!
Military weapons do not belong in the hands of children.

What about Vaccination Deaths ? tiny little helpless innocent babies in America getting those vaccinations and dying of SIDS, or becoming AUTISTIC due to those drugs injected into them via the MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX which is second in deaths world wide to Wars…..
And lets not forget TABACCO 340,000 to 450,000 deaths a year in America. How many eight year old children, boys and girls in the last couple hundred years started smoking this crap and died later in life due to that mistake…
Oh golly–we can still by BOOZE, 150,000 deaths annually.

Letter to the College Freshman, From Mom and Dad
Dear Muffy,
We wish you luck. We’re so proud of you, and know you’ll do great.
But if you come home claiming meat is murder, while sporting a nose ring and some Asian tattoo stamped on the crack of your Butt ? you can’t come in.
If you want to make a statement by mutilating the body God gave you ? then go the whole nine: Cut off your face and join a carnival. At least that’s a career move with strong profit potential.
If, while away, you’ve decided that America is at fault for everything, then you will sleep in the backyard and crap in a hole you dug yourself. After all, your professors admire Third World countries, so why not live like you’re in one?
We do hope college “opens” your mind, but if you announce that terrorism is just the powerless speaking to the powerful, then we will beat the crap out of you.
But we won’t behead you. We’ll leave that to the powerless.
If you also tell us that capitalism is corrupt and socialism is supreme, then hand over your cell phone and your credit cards. Practice what you preach and reject these trappings of an evil market system. We also want your bong. What can we say? We’ve earned it.
Also, if you must lecture your father on evil corporations, remember that he toiled at one for years so he could afford your tuition, while paying thousands into useless government programs that your teachers embrace.
If, after that, you’re still moaning, you will do it naked. Because we will take the clothes off your back and kick you out on your Butt. See how you life goes when everything we worked so hard for disappears?
Finally, if you really think you’re an individual ? that is, a person who leads instead of follows ? then you should easily resist the indoctrination of your delusional professors, misguided dormies and anyone with purple hair.
But if you come home and suddenly you’re “edgy” and “angry” ? claiming that the BS you picked up on campus is better than the common sense we taught you ? then you’ll need to find new parents.
Don’t worry, we’ll still love you. We just can’t stand you.
