A Master Of Camouflage - Milt’s Corner

November 13, 2008

Mother Nature sure is a master at camouflage! If you don’t believe it, look at the picture and find the living thing that is in plain view. A hint: look for the black eye in the center left of the picture. Milt

I keep thinkin…..snake! But I could see a snake even if my eyes didn’t…..and if it rattles, I’m on autopilot…But if I can catch ‘em, I’ll turn ‘em loose in my back forty…Looks like a little “pattern” in the center right, like a rat snake or pine snake….Unless one of those sticks is a preying mantis…

In the left half of the photo, near the center, sits a woodcock, well camouflaged within his surroundings. For those not familiar with the woodcock, it would make it that much harder to locate and of course recognize.

OK, I see him now, facing to the right…and no wonder I couldn’t see the horns on those young bucks…without a scope!

Got something to say?
