Killing Wolves, “Barbaric And Cruel”! What About Unborn Babies?

Posted by Tom Remington on September 3, 2008

I ran an announcement almost as soon as it was announced that Sen. John McCain had chosen Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. In that story, I mentioned that already the left was calling Palin a wolf killer. This has set off a long list of comments, some you may want to take a look at.

But here’s one I got overnight pertaining to Alaska’s policy of killing wolves from aircraft as a tool to manage overgrown pockets of wolves in a limited number of areas where caribou and moose are suffering.

This is not a matter of hunters rights or gun rights. It is a matter of common decency. Aeiral[sic] hunting is barbaric and beyond cruel. It is as bad or worse than clubbing baby seals in Japan.

It is a ugly blight on our nation.

I am an independent who was going to vote for McCain - but he just lost my vote.

Are we now to assume that this person is going to cast his ballot for Barack Obama? This, a man who openly promotes the killing of unborn babies and unwanted newborn babies with defects. I guess it’s pretty barbaric to shoot a wolf from a plane but killing humans isn’t an “ugly blight on our nation”?

This pretty much tells the story of what direction our society has headed in.

    1. Tom Sorenson Says:

That’s sad. When did animals become more important than humans? What an ugly society we live in. I wish I’d been born about a hundred and fifty years ago, sometimes.

    2. Neeta Says:

Tom - You are such as sad example of a human being, but so common. Always yelling about the unborn babies….The BORN, Living animals are tortured, maimed, blinded, exploded, and murdered by your fellow kinsmen every hour. If you human beings would take care of your unborn and born babies, then maybe you wouldn’t want to murder and terrorize innocent animals. Disgusting excuses, abound. Thats why WE speak for the animals. BEWARE OF MANKIND!

    3. ar Says:

Tom, you are such an example of a human being, and common.

Neeta, do you realize, you make no sense?

    4. Greg Farber Says:

Well I reckon its time to go out and set my hook in some fishes mouth so I can drag him upto my skillet and eat em for dinner, with some chopped down living plants for salad, and some once alive Brown rice, I’m a gettin hongry….

      REDNECK LOVER.

    5. ar Says:

Sounds great, Greg. I’ll be thinking of you today. I’m
cutting in a new door in the hen house.

    6. jes Says:

Notice how Neeta says, “if you human beings”, as if she is outside the catagory of human beings…..and I imagine she just about is….
as if animals speak for animals, she speaks with distain on humans, as if she was not one….
Physician, heal thyself first….(I think she needs to get back to her own problems)
As Pogo said, “we have found the problem, and the problem is us!”

Save me some chicken legs, I like the dark meat! Or plain ole venison stew will do!

    7. Bea Says:

Obama does not PROMOTE abortion. He doesn’t want to make a woman’s decision for her. True Republicans aren’t supposed to get involved in social issues I thought? I thought they believe in states rights and how our government spends money?

It seems the more intellectual conservatives (George Will, Pat Buchanan, William Buckley Jr.) have been overtaken by red neck in-your-face “conservatism.”

    8. Bill Says:

Well MC same and the Lapin(french word) are some teem.. AS IN NO GOOD i am infuruated with the wolf killing from planes. I AN a RESPONABUL hunter, A retired Navy (Nam vet) Life member of NRA ,and cancer survivor, I WILL NOT NOT vote for these 2 <c Same is a Liar ,has his Lapin and trying to sell a bill of goods to us HE DID NOT DID NOT support the Bill Improving VETS Bennifits.. NOw there is a KICK in the teeth This phoney survived Annapolis and the navy just because of his father and grandfather. This is very obvioius.
Wellim one vet who wount vote for this phoney

    9. Bill Says:

LAPIN= rabbit, imitation for quality, castrated male rabbit, rabbits are natural food for artic wolves to supplement larger pray (caribou)

    10. jes Says:

Sometimes we gotta live with one less vote….but if he gets elected you’ll probably get better care as a veteran, since he was and is one. But Obama hasn’t served a day in the military…

    11. George Says:

Watching the faces of Sarah Palin’s children as she thundered away at her critics while humbly introducing herself to the people of America I couldn’t help but feel that I knew what they were feeling; pride, security, patriotism, humility, inspiration. As governor Palin introduced her family to the world it became all too apparent that - just like my mother and father - she and her husband had taught their children to - come hell or high water - stand up for who they are and what they believe, that in understanding the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, a child, a person, can stand up to anything that the nefarious and the opportunistic can dish out.

    12. jes Says:

You’re right, George, and I was thinking along those same lines, myself…and not wishing it on anybody, but thinking that she and her family will be going thru rough times, with the media, but I think they will all hold water, cause they’re caulked pretty tight and are the kind of people to ride the river with…

    13. George Says:

Palin Survived. Now the Left REALLY Has to Destroy Her

But the pundits and the consultants were wrong. Palin’s success last week doesn’t mean the left-wing is going to give up attacking her.

Palin’s success means that now the left really has to destroy her.

Why? Because she’s proved that she is an intelligent, articulate and mortal threat to the left’s claim that it is the sole, legitimate voice of women and blue-collar, working Americans.

Sarah Palin is a mother of five who is also an accomplished woman.

She is a lifelong member of the NRA who is also an intelligent, articulate professional.

She is pro-life in her words and in her deeds, and she controls an $11 billion budget and 15,000 Alaska state employees.

Simply put, the left has a greater vested interest in destroying her than any presidential or vice presidential candidate the Republican Party has nominated in the last fifty years.

The media will try to downplay her accomplishments as when Ron Allen of MSNBC tried to get me to accept that she had too little experience. Watch it here.

Echoes of the Clarence Thomas Nomination

We’ve seen this kind of desperation before, of course.

Those of us who lived through the effort by the elites to destroy Clarence Thomas when he was nominated to sit on the Supreme Court by George H. W. Bush have an unsettling idea of the fight that lies ahead.

The left and the elites regarded Thomas - an African-American who is also a conservative - as a threat to their ability to be the arbiters of what African-Americans and other minorities should believe.

Allowing Thomas to ascend to the high court would show that skin color does not dictate political affiliation - just as allowing Sarah Palin to become vice president would show that being a woman and a blue-collar American does not dictate political party.

So they threw mud at Thomas. They called him a traitor to his race.

Just like what’s happening now with Governor Palin. We’ve seen this before.
If Palin’s Still Standing in November, Republicans Will Win the Election

The road ahead promises to be bumpy. But the good news is that if Governor Palin survives the next few months as a national figure of competence and reform, then the left suddenly has a tremendous problem.

It’s a problem that is bigger than just losing the election (which is what will happen if she is a star in November).

The left’s problem will be that, at 44, Sarah Palin represents potentially 30 years of Republican Party leadership and transforming the party and America.

The stakes are high, and the race is on.

It’s time to brace ourselves for the coming war against Sarah Palin - and its time to win it.

    14. George Says:

The more I read and the more I weigh up my options, The more excited I get that after all We just might have a dog in this race after all. Lipstick and All!!

    15. Bea Says:

Here’s another less flattering view of Palin.

      http://www.algore.org/blog/medullan_marauder/sarah_palin_s_big_sleazy_safari

Regardless — it’s the economy — that’s what voters care about now — not gun rights, not abortion. I thought conservatives like the government to stay OUT of social issues? Seems Palin likes to be right in the middle of them, especially with the story of her attempts to censor Alaska’s libraries. Isn’t that the type of thing we’re trying to fight against in the USA/ That’s what they do in middle eastern countries — censor things — Palin is also known for supporting and using earmarks; McCain is supposedly against them.

Don’t let their big pro-gun stance get in the way of examining their views on everything…. your right to own a gun cannot be taken away anyway.

    16. Bea Says:

Bill, I agree with you — McCain and Palin are not the people they’d like you to believe they are. But some cannot seem to see that — yet. They will in time though.

I was supportive of Clarence Thomas for Supreme Court too.

Palin is an in-your-face ruthless woman who will not help unite the country; I believe she will further polarize it by her extreme personal worldviews. In fact, when she was first “hired” as Mayor, the town wanted her to spend more time “worrying about roads” than abortion issues, etc.

    17. Bea Says:

Native Americans did not view wolves as “the enemy.” They lived in harmony with all of nature and wildlife. The Cherokee even thought to kill a wolf would invite trouble from other wolves.

Why can’t “white man” live and let live?

Because they are - domination control freaks — arrogantly thinking that the universe would not know how to operate without their “management.” Right.

Hi, Debbie, do you have trouble in the bedroom? Is there a government official looking in on you? Or are you one of those kinds that they should be looking in on? Maybe you need to find the male inhancement adds to help you out!

Strangely enough, some people are illogical, usually dumb women, especially when they find some slick, black Willie, to follow all agaga…

      jes Says:

Sometimes we gotta live with one less vote….but if he gets elected you’ll probably get better care as a veteran, since he was and is one. But Obama hasn’t served a day in the military

Jes, I dare you to actually look up how much McC voted for the military and the veterans… and why his record on most vet affairs is a D…. He’s got his… now you go ahead and get yours on your own…. Despicable.

If you really think that the economic policies that have been adopted in the last 8 years when they took the ceremonial axe to the regulations is good for you…. Hrmmm.. Bear Stearns (govt buyout) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (govt buyout), Lehman brothers (govt helping to sell off whatever of it is left), WAMU, McCain’s own son’s bank going under….. you really think that this is a party of fiscal responsibility?

      Give me an f’ing break!1111111111

I don’t think that any of you right wingers look at the platforms that the people are running on other than
      Oh.. I am pro life
      Oh.. I am pro guns

You hear one tiny rumor that the Dems want to take that away and your brains shut down. What is wrong with that? Well, it means that your dreams for a different plan are going to be shoved down the sh’t hole and you are going to be living in your nightmare……..

Obama supporters are not idiots and most of us are pretty middle of the road, just like you…. the biggest difference is this…. We are willing to let you be you…
You are not willing to let us be us…..

    20. jes Says:

I couldn’t disagree with you more!
But, as is symtomatic of many who would like to criticise the POTUS, and the party of conservatives, who think differently than you, thinking clearly is not an option..

You, my friend, seem to want to blame someone for everything, except yourself….

And I suppose you would like to nationalize private business as well, make your world more secure? Try moving to a communist country, where everything is under control! Except the free spirit!

If someone is going to give a rating, I’d like to know, one, where it’s coming from, and two, what are the criteria, and how are they being determined? (if you aren’t careful, almost any statistics can be used to your advantage)…that’s a refresher college course for you?

And your wanting to let us be us? That’s a crock. Take away your rights under the 2nd ammendment and what are you?… a “subject” of any totalitarian who can take power, or any government who becomes a corrupted despot! How kind of you!

    21. George Says:

The more liberals mistreat Palin and act like transparent 2-year-olds in projecting onto conservatives their own patronizing proclivities the more their true colors will be apparent. So please keep it up.

    22. jes Says:

To “Show”, who is concerned about veterans….thought you might like to research McCains record on veterans and health care, etc…..(and also Obama’s, if your interested in finding “actual facts” esp. voting records) Tell me if you think this site is “neutral” enough!

      * Medicaid & Medicare

      * Military & Veterans Benefits
      * Border Control

      * McCain would “slightly decrease” spending for:NASA
      * Welfare

      * McCain would eliminate spending for:Arts funding

    24. jes Says:

George, you were there….pretty good site, huh! You can also check their voting records and just who voted for what!

Hell, I wouldn’t try to portray Mc as anything more than he is….I would barely vote for him as he is, but anything is better than Obama…At least he had a good choise for VP!

    25. George Says:

Yep, I was poking around in there. but I keep coming to the same conclusions. I have no shades of gray everything is pretty much black and white. Never had time for the new order doctrine taught at our HIGHER learning centers:

      YES, I’M A BAD AMERICAN

I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American.

I am a Master Mason and believe in God.

I ride Harleys Davidson Motorcycles and believe in American products.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!

I’m in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!

I think owning a gun doesn’t make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.

I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it!

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.

My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and

Willie G Davidson that makes theAwesome Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

I don’t hate the rich. I don’t pity the poor.

I know wrestling is fake and I don’t waste my time watching or arguing about it.

I’ve never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven’t burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already.

I believe if you don’t like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA

We like it the way it is!

If you were born here and don’t like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you.

I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution.

Can I get an AMEN on that one?

I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you’re breaking the law, regardless of what color you are.

And, no, I don’t mind having my face shown on my drivers license.

I think it’s good….. And I’m proud that ‘God’ is written on my money.

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don’t want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making ‘donations’ to their cause. Get a Job and do your part!
I believe that it doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.

I believe ‘illegal’ is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.

I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA !

If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I’m a BAD American.

    26. jes Says:

Neither did I. And you get a rousing AMEN, to all of those…
Black or white is good or bad….right or wrong…if they’re taaching something other than that, God is going to let them discover for themselves what judgement is all about, when the final decision is made….and that would be too late to wake! You missed the boat!

    27. George Says:

AMEN to that! To get back to the subject I found this thought I’d pass it on.

But Obama’s record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion — a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called “too close to infanticide.” Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be “punished with a baby” because of a crisis pregnancy — hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life.
      ad_icon

For decades, most Democrats and many Republicans have hoped the political debate on abortion would simply go away. But it is the issue that does not die. Recent polls have shown that young people are more likely than their elders to support abortion restrictions. Few Americans oppose abortion under every circumstance, but a majority oppose most of the abortions that actually take place — generally supporting the procedure only in the case of rape or incest, or to save the life of the mother.

Perhaps this is a revolt against a culture of disposability. Perhaps it reflects the continuing revolution of ultrasound technology — what might be called the “Juno” effect. In the delightful movie by that name, the protagonist, a pregnant teen seeking an abortion, is confronted by a classmate who informs her that the unborn child already has fingernails — which causes second thoughts. A worthless part of its mother’s body — a clump of protoplasmic rubbish — doesn’t have fingernails.

    28. George Says:

Sounds like he’s promoting abortion to me. Or just following the party line

    29. Jon Says:

You people are rediculous. I love how you make it sound like Obama kills unborn babies. He only supports the womens right to choose. The two sides in the argument are Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. There is no such perspective as Pro-Abortion. McCain who is pro-life has also stated that if elected he will not overturn the Supreme Courts decision regarding abortion because he thinks that by making abortion illegal it will cause to many underground unsafe abortions. So in a sense McCain will be a baby killer too when he gets in office. Killing wolves is barbaric. I suggest you watch the documentary “living with wolves”.

You may think us “rediculous” but actually to someone else we would be ridiculous.

I think it was your man who opted for the use of the analogy of still ending up with a pig even after you put lipstick on it. So there you go.

You chose to call it choice. Many other opt to see it as life beginning at the moment of conception and any choice to end that life after that as being murder by our country’s laws.

You are correct in that if McCain supports abortion, a pig is a pig.

If you still think killing a wolf is barbaric and should be illegal, you decision to support abortion makes you a huge hypocrite doesn’t it?

    32. jes Says:

Jon, I hate to tell you but there are two sides alright, but they are Pro-Life and Pro-Death! Lets not hide the facts of what abortion is all about! Ride, shoot straight, and SPEAK THE TRUTH!

    33. George Says:

I watched the living with bears documentary. This was kind of interesting. But just as I was thinking all along, the poor misguided person was nothing more than a meal to the bears.

No thanks for being a protector! just a nice fresh easy to kill meal. Stupid humans

    34. jes Says:

And if it’s the documentary I saw, he takes his girlfriend along for an after dinner smack…

    35. Tom Remington Says:

George and Jes - I think the documentary Jon is referring to is “Living With Wolves”.
