I heard something of this the first night of the dnc. The
media blew it out of proportion saying it was a possible
assasination attempt on the O.
More hokey pokey.
James - Where to begin? First let me say that you are “sort of” preaching to the choir here. I am puzzled though with your tactic in getting your point across. You assume too much.
Let me first give you some advice. If you want to visit someone’s website and offer supporting or contradictory information, the best way to do that is by first not making assumptions of the author, and second by not taking on a “better than the rest attitude”.
You “assume” in your tone, that I and other readers are not as “informed” or well read or knowledgeable as you. Had you simply skipped the parts about how brilliant you are and the rest of us unaware of history, etc., your point would have been much better received by myself and the readers of this blog.
Before visiting anyone’s site and leaving a comment in the manner that you have, you should first spend some time there and, well, do a little research, of which you seem to indicate I and others don’t bother doing. Had you done this, you would have discovered enough so that you wouldn’t have felt the need to put myself and others in a lowlier position in order to elevate your own.
Your point and recollection of the historic “metamorphosing” into a totalitarian state is well taken and comes as no surprise to me or probably to most readers here.
But going from this into a self-righteous rant about how ethical and “pure” you are in disingenuous and I believe runs contradictory to the first two-thirds of your comment. You appear not much different than anyone else wishing to impose your ideals, (that seem to be better than most) onto others while at the same time having disregard for the laws of our land.
How serious you are, I have no idea but it is your subject brought up not mine. There are many laws in this land I object to and fight off everyday.
I will assume then from your attitude you are not a believer in God or the Bible. If you were, you would know that the Bible tells us to “render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s”, etc. Not intending to insult your intelligence, that simply means obey the laws of the land.
Where I came from that means if you don’t like them, then work within the legal constraints to change them. When those laws become contrary to the will and teachings of God, then we must obey the will of God.
This blog is an open forum in which everyone is welcome to post on, as are you. My suggestions are that before visiting my house and telling me my furniture isn’t arranged quite the way you think it ought to be, you consider where you are and why.
Aside from all this, you topic is very broad and is difficult to address as a whole but you bring up some excellent points.
I am a believer in the U.S. Constitution and I also believe that is and the Bill of Rights where both inspired by God - my choice to believe as a free human being.
Because of that, I think God intended us to follow the Constitution and Bill of Rights as supplemental guidelines to go along with the Bible to keep this country headed in the right direction.
We have turned our backs on all three documents.
You also bring up the point that most people are unaware of. That is the Constitution and Bill of Rights can and are being ignored by the people of this country and our elected officials.
Our elected officials, many of whom are progressives, simply make laws that contradict these two documents because they believe it is what the people want.
Odd isn’t it that once we thought that although a child might “want” a cookie in the cookie jar, we prohibited it because we knew it was not necessarily in the best interest of the child.
We must find politicians and put them into office that will not turn their backs on the Bible, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Until we make that change, I would suggest modifying your “holier-than-thou” attitude and effect change in a different manner.
You are not alone. There are millions of people who still live in this country that have similar thoughts as yours and would like to see the country become what it once was. Some of us are doing something about it.
But the unspiritual man simply cannot accept the matters which the spirit deals with - they just don’t make sense to him, for, after all, you must be spiritual to see spiritual things. The spiritual man, on the other hand, has insight into the meaning of everything, though his insight may baffle the man of the world. This is because the former is sharing in God’s wisdom, and
Who hath known the mind of the Lord,
That he should instruct him?
Incredible as it may sound, we who are spiritual have the very thoughts of Christ!

Even though I disagree with a lot of Tom’s views, some — not many — of them I agree with. At least he is secure enough to allow posters with other opinions than his own on his blog. Some other posters don’t seem so tolerant.
That’s pretty much the message of our founding fathers — tolerance for other points of view.
Unless we go blog at the anti-hunter wolf lover tree hugger sites we get banned after one comment. You just get to abuse your priviledge here all you want. Your points of view are not substantiated in any fact, just emotion.
Bea, I did ten miles today via horseback in wolf country, what the hell did you do ? Dream about wolves in your yard maybe, in your subdivision you live in, or is it a Condo in the city?
What did I do? Well, let’s see — I got up at 6:15, got my kids to school, went downtown to work for 8 hrs., came home, made dinner, cleaned up. Sounds like you’re the one living the easy life.
Bea,
Self employeed for twenty years and I watched my pennies. Probably paid ten times more income taxes during those years than you did, thus I have every right to loaf around for threee months a year hunting fishing and horse backing around in wolf country where I live and see them daily doing the fine things over populated un-managed predators do, killing every thing in the forest even other predators, coyotes, foxes, bears, I bet the only predator they have trouble catching is the couger, because cougers climb trees and wolves can’t.
I’m glad your children are nice and safe living in your fuzzy little warm and cuddly CITY, Meanwhile other people in this Nation with your wolves un-leashed in their rural area’s don’t allow the little human children to play out side any longer with out taking their eyes off them for one second, some citizens do not allow their kids to walk to the school bus stop on their own any longer either.
Yep, we are living it here, while you are still going on IMAGINATION. Can I sugget a campground right off the main road here for you to take your children camping and fishing? Try Elk Creek Campground, Bear Valley, it’s beautiful. Please go for a long walk.
Tom, I’m almost sorry to have missed the post that you so well disciplined…
But, “the blog master speaks”!
