Fay Go Away!
August 18, 2008
All of us in Florida have much of our attention focused on Tropical Storm Fay, trying to figure out what she is going to do. This morning forecasters moved the projected track further to the east. Late last night they had moved it from just about right over Tampa Bay to out over the Gulf of Mexico. This morning that track is to the east of Tampa Bay making landfall in Sarasota or Manatee County, which is to the south of me.
I’ve not seen much activity among the residents scrambling to get things ready. As usual it will be a mad dash at the last minute. For me, I have all my important papers readied in a plastic tub. My laptop is packed and I’ll unplug and load up my desktop at the last minute.
At this juncture it appears it will be a minimal storm but it’s good to be prepared anyway. Later this afternoon I will need to go pick up my granddaughter and I’ll make sure things are ready at their house too.
I’ll keep you informed as the day progresses but right now I don’t expect much of anything to change.
