Michigan DEQ Flunking According To Chamber Of Commerce
Posted by Tom Remington on July 23, 2008
Just listen to the radio, pick a newspaper or read online and you will hear more and more a common statement - Michigan is in a mess!
According to Market Watch, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce members were surveyed about the state’s Department of Environmental Quality. Of those responding over 50% gave a grade of “C” or lower.
More than half of the 300 Michigan Chamber member firms who participated in a poll to gather their opinions and comments regarding the DEQ gave the department a grade of “C” or worse. Specifically, 23 percent of the respondents gave the department a “C”; 18 percent a “D”; and 10 percent an “F.”
Here are the top five complaints about DEQ.
– Too slow
— Unresponsive or difficult to reach
— Not knowledgeable or lacking experience and training
— Arrogant, rude or generally difficult to work with
— Too much bureaucracy and burdensome over-regulation
Sounds about like what would describe most governmental agencies to me.
Hat tip to Bill!
