    SNUBBER, Used in the maine woods to hold back a load of wood the horses/oxen where hauling down a steep grade.

    Any dam fool knows that it’s cable driven boat lift.

    Used in the 1800 hundreds to lift Bateau loads of trade goods threw the locks at the end of Sebago lake.
    Up to the brandy pond level and on up to the Harrison town settelers.
