A Bitter White Man Clinging To Guns and Religion?

April 14, 2008

Barack ObamaI suppose in Barack Obama’s eyes, I too fit his stereotypical bitter rural American who clings to my guns and religion and possess “antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” Then again to him, maybe I am a typical white man bred to be bitter because I live in rural America and my government hasn’t taken care of me.

It has become clear that Barack Obama is a typical politician whose glowing halo is getting dimmer with each passing “I’ll admit I didn’t chose my words correctly” excuse. He promised Americans he was different. He boasted he was going to pull us all together, mend fences, make America respected in the world again.

Part of Obama’s problem is he thinks we’re all dumb - at least those who aren’t following him like sheep gone astray. He thinks us bitter country folk can’t see through his facade of fakery.

He is elitist. This morning on the Today show, Matt Lauer was interviewing James Carville, self-proclaimed best friend of Bill Clinton. Lauer asked Carville about comments being made that Obama was an elitist and Carville responded that he didn’t really know what that meant.

Let me help. An elitist is someone who readily scoffs at the heritage of others different than themselves. An elitist profiles others into categories seemingly inferior because they are different or misunderstood. Elitist is appearing before a group of wealthy people in a closed-door reception/fund raiser and describing people in Pennsylvania and the West as being bitter with nothing left to cling to except their guns and religion while having antipathy toward people not like them or having anti-immigration and anti-trade sentiment.

Elitist is then going before the public the next day in an attempt to explain why he said what he did and tell the world that now we are all bitter because the truth was told. *Note* - The press reports it that he said he erred in not choosing his words more carefully. Why is it they miss such blatant snobbery from Obama when he admits he believes in what he said?

Elitist is also telling the same crowd that “bitter” is a word used in the Bible. Maybe that’s one word used a lot in his pastor’s, Jeremiah Wright’s, bible. There are a lot of words written in the Bible. Some of them far worse than “bitter”. Now, have our politician found that they can say anything they want and justify it because it’s written in the Bible?

Obama is alienating himself, along with his party, with anyone who doesn’t think and believe as he does. He has come to realize that the group of Americans he just insulted will not vote for him anyway and evidently, because he admits he told the truth, doesn’t care much about these people. He certainly doesn’t understand them and instead of taking some of his own cheap advice, he mocks them, ridicules and places them on a tier far below his uppity, angry attitude. This is a man who understands?

Little by little the real Barack Obama is being discovered. We now know what most of us suspected from the beginning, that he is very much an anti-gun candidate. He has come right out and said that he does not believe in concealed carry, that guns should be used only for hunting purposes and that he supports the current Washington, D.C. gun ban.

Perhaps what Obama is mistaking for bitterness because of lost jobs is that Americans that are not like him, are fed up with people like him. Obama wants to continue to strip away our rights and we are tired of that. We are tired of liars. We are tired of out of touch politicians, of which Obama is no different than any other. We are tired of losing our country and constitution that our ancestors, friends and family have fought and died for. We are tired that history isn’t being taught in our schools anymore. We are tired of political correctness. We are tired that our sovereignty no longer has value. We are tired of big government. We are tired of increased regulation. We are tired of being taxed out of existence. We are tired that politicians, just like him, don’t have the slightest clue what a dollar bill is.

I’m willing to stake my reputation on the fact that the Pennsylvanians, Westerners and all other Americans Obama looks down his nose at, aren’t bitter that they lost their jobs 25 years ago. These people are hard working and intelligent. What makes them the true Americans that they are is because when they get in trouble, they don’t look to the government of come bail them out. They take after themselves. They are what made America great. People like Obama don’t like that in Americans. When we don’t suck off the teet of the government, he loses his control, his power and his job security.

These Americans he so dislikes don’t have anti-immigration sentiment. They are filled with anti-illegal immigration sentiment because people like Obama want to give anyone asking, citizenship to this country without making requirements to insure our security and maintain our sovereignty.

This man, I’m afraid, is an angry, out of touch elitist who called his own grandmother a typical white woman that was bred to fear a black person walking down the street. I don’t think these Pennsylvanians, our friends in the West or any other American who chooses to own guns and go to church, would even entertain the thought that their grandmothers were typical in anyway and the suggestion that someone has had fear bred into them makes me wonder what really is in this man’s heart.

I think that it is a shame that because I love my country, grew up in rural America, I choose to own guns and I choose to make God and religion an important part of my life, that somehow I am bitter and these are the only things left of value in my life. I resent that and will pray to God that I will not be bitter toward a man that is misguided and thinks he’s better than me or my family.

Tom! I think we finally found some common ground!

Very well stated and you make some very excellent [and very necessary] points! Would that I had the faith to believe people of the non-bitter variety would understand them!

Thanks, Mary! They are “necessary” points. In my book, it doesn’t matter what party you are a part of, what sex or race, when you start talking this stuff, none of us should just sit back.

We eat from the same table. Some-
where along the way, we forgot what we were doing. {Was wondering if it has anything to do with taking prayer out of school, as well as history.} I’m tired too! Tired of teaching what should have been taught during the school years. Tired, as well,of being outrightly lied to. And tired that no one will say what they mean and mean what they say; ’til now. Thank you Tom.
Tired all day long if that’s what it takes to defend the way a man should live. And tired all day tomorrow for helping someone remember how we got here.
Compassion, not bitterness, is felt here. Will we have to defend that as well?

I emailed with a man today who is seriously considering moving from the state he grew up in simply because everyday he is seeing his constitutional rights, not only disregarded, but laws made that actually ignore the state and U.S. Constitution. All this under the much makes-me-want-to-vomit reasoning that “our society doesn’t find these things important anymore”.
I believe in the states having sovereign rights but this goes too far. This man fortunately lives in a country where he can still choose where he lives but are we to just run away from these socialist seeking morons only because they believe in a progressive secular lifestyle?
I hope more conservation thinking people, who still cling to the values that please God and make this country a great place to live, will get tired as well and begin to say, “enough is enough”.
They don’t need to burn buildings and turn over cars as those who are trying to change this country have done. No, a simple trip to the polling station in November and vote for the people who share our ideals and values. They are out there, they just might not be the “front runner” bought and paid for politician we all want to regurgitate out lunches over.
One step toward that end is certainly better than no step at all.

Why do people not vote? What will it take to get them to vote? Do they not trust anyone, anymore? Or do they not understand the whole process? Is it laziness or is it that they don’t care? Or don’t know why they should care? What has happened that thinking has gone this route? “Not important anymore?”

Osama Obama Bin Lyin to his Momma again. The White half of this man should make the black half of his self think before uttering stupid comments. Obama is sure tossing the Bitter word around these days.

    BITTER:

B is for Bigot; persons stubbornly attached to concepts not to date actually accepted by yourself. It is not Bigotry to be certain you are right, but to believe you can’t be wrong.

I is for idiot; Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

T is for Tenure: A process to institutionalize academic incompetance.

T again is for Think; before spewing forth the accusation of Bitterness towards Whitey, for those Obama’s who don’t, its wise to reshuffle your prejuidices peridocally.

E is for Error and: Or Electors, Which is the bitter few who recognize the priviledge of voting for the politician of some Elite groups choice. Or some political hack tossing the word Bitter around and showing the world he is an Egalitarianist, you know STUPID.

R is for Republic and Rumor; The weapon used by Scoundrels and thieves, in this case Obama, in an attempt to assassinate the character of those AMERICANS with the courage to speak up and use their FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHT Of FREE SPEECH to voice their disdain for the Socialist Communist direction of OUR REPUBLIC, thus calling us Bitter. When in fact it is These Assassins of freedom whom Bitterly fight tooth and claw to DESTROY the Republic and those Amendments we HOLD SO BITTERLY DEAR TO OUR HEARTS.

Dear Obama: Please look at your hand when pointing to me and crying out you Bitter American, and take note of those three fingers on your own hand pointing directly back at yourself. We know how Bitterly you want the Oval Office, but sorry Chump, it shall be Johns.

And for the record: FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS YOU CHICKEN HAWK.

    Wolveshater.

    @ar

All of the above. I’m in my early 30’s and most presidential election years have had crap and crap for choices. Those that didn’t, my husband and I voted (as we certainly will this year; this year we even went out for the primaries).

Part of the problem is that too often we have no good options, and part of the problem is that too often you can’t see through the mud to figure out who a good option might be.

Add to that, as you mentioned, laziness, disconnect, lack of faith in the whole process, the feeling that your vote doesn’t count (try being a republican living in MA sometime)….there are many reasons people don’t vote anymore.

“The White half of this man should make the black half of his self think before uttering stupid comments. ”

What are you saying? Obama’s comments are downright insulting, but you don’t have to start slinging around racist jabs.

  10. Greg Farber on April 15th, 2008 2:49 pm

    Bill

That is not a racist jab, Barrack Obama is in fact the son of a white woman and black man. Just pointing out the facts. I was insulted by Barrack’s Black Nationalists comments he made some years ago, how about his Black Panthers Logo on his web page. One of my best friends is Black and one hell of a Constitutional Scholar, you should hear what he calls Obama. If you think that was racist then calling me White is racist to RIGHT? NOT. Funny how Racism is something which according to government and academia can only be committed by caucasian males.

  11. Bill T. on April 15th, 2008 4:41 pm

Obama certainly sounds like a racist to me. He seems to really hate white people for no reason I might add. He has no family ties to slavery or to the American-Black community.

Saying that his white half should keep his black half in check is saying that black people are inherently less intelligent. I assume that was just poorly worded statement then. My apologies if that is not what you meant.

  12. Greg Farber on April 15th, 2008 6:11 pm

I think the man himself is very intelligent, but I do wonder some times what are intelligent people thinking when they insist on the communitarian way being better than the freedom and individuality of Liberty. But then these politicians all answer to the beat of a different drummer, and it is not us whom they serve. I only vote local, to vote in the National election is to except subserviance to un-Constitutional federal authority over the States in which we all reside, this was not nor ever can be the Founders intent, the problems with state Constitutions are directly due to the federal influence used under the powers of the 14th Amendment which took the power of the 9th and 10th Amendments away from the states, this is a reversal of De-jure authority into De-facto authority since 1868, the 14th is not what it appears to be, and proper research proves it. I prefer the De-jure status myself, it means Im the boss, not them.

I think that we should look at the larger picture. The countries of Europe are coming together under one union, and a new leader from the west, an orator, with smooth persuasive powers, stands before the people of the west and prclaims to be a follower of the one true GOD.

I think if you go to the back of the Bible you will find something smilar.

  15. Robert on April 21st, 2008 4:44 pm

The thing is, you are dumb. You do cling to your guns and your religion. Those are the only things you feel that you have any control over or that help empower you. Gone are the days when a good paying job was the norm for white men. That is no longer the case. We are quick to blame others for our shortcomings. We have a $9 trillion debt, China has us over a barrel, our infrastructure is in disrepair, our economy is third world, are education system is substandard, health care is unattainable or inadequate for many, and we will be leaving our children a broken country. And your immediate concern is that comment, which is true. You are dumb.

  16. Greg Farber on April 21st, 2008 6:57 pm

Actually the National defict is closer to $153 Trillion, $9 trillion is what the government admits to, You must realize the money system of fiat federal reserve notes is private, backed by nothing never was either. All credit extended to Americans is debt from the same federal reserve, those Fiat notes them selves are credit, and when our Congressmen borrow more from the federal reserve then we are farther in debt. Also Allen Greenspan at Congressional hearings in 1998 told Senator Hollings Social Security loaned to the Clinton Administration $736 billion, the I OWE YOU is still there. Henry Paulson recently said in Congressional hearings Social Security is 100% negative, in other words broken. The Bush Administration also has used debt dollars out of this account as well. So with the entitlement bomb and all credit including credit cards we the people owe the private federal reserve about $400,000 per person. Also- the 9th Circuit Court in Lewis vs. United States, June 24, 1982 and I quote “…we conclude that the federal reserve banks are not federal…but are independent privately owned and locally controlled corporations…without day to day direction from the federal government.

So you see with research we find that the directors of this nation for many years have been foreign banking families from Europe. I dont think Americans are DUMB, I just think they trusted their government for to long. If it is any consolation the $9 trillion is included in the $153 trillion. It is still compounding the fake interest, and those crooks are thinking forclosure one fine day, so yep, Im hangin on to my piece.

I’m not moving into the New World Order with the New Worlders, It just will not be worth living under full blown communism, count me out.

I was really hoping Obama might come around and become more moderate. Let me be clear, I am not a religious man, I am a California republican, which isn’t saying much, but I whole heartedly support the second amendment, am a life member of the NRA, and feel that gun rights are an important issue and they are under attack. The whole reason we have rights at all is due to our right to bear arms.

As an independent voter, and a natural born citizen of this nation, originally from the midwest, I can say that Mr.Obama is losing his support. I can not stand the illegals, maybe I do have antipathy towards those unlike me, I don’t see anything wrong with that. I am 27, presently unemployed, and the economy is in shambles. The last thing I want to see is an illegal immigrant with a mortgage, a job, owning a business, or anything along those lines obtained with false papers and illegally obtained credit or see some illegal get government aid it is disgusting. I know I can’t get credit! Why should some Mexican get a loan?

Damn illegal Mexicans are a pestilence, a plague, Their tons of kids all get automatic citizenship for being born here?! We are at war in the wrong part of the world my friends, if the Mexicans want to be here so bad, maybe we should just bring it to them, why don’t we sack Mexico city with a real invasion, instead of the 12 million of them here, we could send a million or two there, bomb the hell out of them, take their gold, land, whatever and then the Mexicans can be United States citizens, if they want it so bad I am sure they won’t be all pissed off like the Iraqis are.

I really dislike John McCain, I voted for Ron Paul in the primary, because I didn’t like the rest of the republicans, I especially couldn’t stand Mitt Romney and he is as Anti-gun as the rest of them! Mitt Romney signed into law some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country as governor of Massachusetts.

In Ron Paul I see somebody my grandfather could have voted for, but the republicans shunned him! He had it all right on, get rid of the damn illegals, close our borders, bring jobs back to the states from India and China, and dump the FED. But no, oh thats just too radical. Whatever.

Obama is Crazy, Clinton is just shitty, and McCain is senile. So I guess I am not left with much. So, I am going to CLING my gun, hunt for and grow my own food, sit on a well, and wait for these assholes to hang themselves out to dry, I will see the rest of the country in the body politic when everyone gets their head out of their ass and brings the power and money back to (US) the people. Good Luck
