Obama Very Much Anti-Gun
Posted by Tom Remington on April 4, 2008
Talk is cheap and in an election year candidates are famous for promising the world and delivering on nothing promised. Ever since the debate began on the landmark case of District of Columbia vs. Heller, the candidates have, for the most part, avoided much discussion about the case, only to say they support an individual’s right to own a gun.
Heading down the stretch in Pennsylvania’s democratic primary, the issue of guns might have a significant role. While Philadelphia is trying to create similar gun laws, like those in Washington, D.C., the Keystone state has over one million licensed hunters and far more gun owners. Where the candidates stack up on gun issues could determine the outcome of the primary and perhaps even the presidency, as history has shown us.
According to PittsburghLive.com, all three candidates state they are for an individual right to own a gun. All three candidates also have expressed support of a ban on assault weapons and oppose a national registry. But Obama came out and made a statement that can only be taken as a huge blunder on his part, but at least now we know the truth.
“I am not in favor of concealed weapons,” Obama said. “I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations.”
Not only does this reveal he is not a Second Amendment person but shows his real ignorance of facts. His statement that people carrying concealed creates a potential atmosphere where innocent people get hurt is absurd and is not based on any facts only on emotion spawned by ignorance.
Sandy Froman, past president of the NRA, in an article at TownHall.com, reveals more about the blundering Obama who is exposing himself as being an extreme left liberal who touts regulations and limiting individual freedoms. In a recent interview, he shows that he supports the Washington, D.C. gun ban.
“There is an individual right to bear arms, but it is subject to common-sense regulation just like most of our rights are subject to common-sense regulation.”………….“I think that local jurisdictions have the capacity to institute their own gun laws . . . the City of Chicago has gun laws, as does Washington, D.C.” He went on, “The notion that somehow local jurisdictions can’t initiate gun safety laws . . . isn’t borne out by our Constitution.”
Froman also refreshes our memories and teaches many of us unknowing readers for the first time, that in 1996, Obama filled out a candidates’ questionnaire. In that questionnaire, he was asked if he was in favor of legislation to, “ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.” Unlike most politicians who never come right out and answer a question, Obama’s answer was one three-letter word.
“Yes”
Enough said.

What else do you expect from a Democrat? Socialist hunting agendas for the deprived, impoverished, illiterates who need government help to buy bullets? It don’t go that way today..Hell, you’re lucky if a Republican steps up to the plate for your 2nd rights….Thank God we have the Constitution, to slow down the “give up our rights if you give us bread” mentality..I saw this coming during our “great” urbanization era, when we started to lose sight of the values our parents and grandparents had, from growing up in the country and being God fearing…Let’s just hope McCain gets it, but I doubt he will, so we settle for what’s left, no pun intended…Maybe make some headway with Congressmen and Senators…if we’re lucky…Sometime you just gotta tow the line, and hang tight…

I am always suprised to see how certain people in the population are so crazy about owning guns.
Are you that insecure about your own existance?
I guess these “god” fearing people (I consider “god” to be an ancient superstition religious people try to cling on to.) are so insecure about themselves that they feel like they need to arm themselves.
I think it is more than reasonable for all hunting
rifles to be registered with the government, and all handguns and military style rifles (AR-15, AK-47 types) to be banned completely.

“Are you that insecure about your own existence?”
No, I feel very secure. You obviously have some issues though. You feel so insecure in you life that you think you will be safer if guns are banned. Tell me John, who will protect you if someone tries to harm you and/or your loved ones?

“No, I feel very secure. You obviously have some issues though. You feel so insecure in you life that you think you will be safer if guns are banned. Tell me John, who will protect you if someone tries to harm you and/or your loved ones?”
Tony, the fact that you are talking about “who will protect you . . .” shows the fact that you, as a gun owner, are a fairly insecure person.
I guess that’s the reason you are obsessed about guns.
That’s the common characteristics I see in gun owners.
So, someone like Tony who is an insecure gun owner calling myself insecure is simply laughable.

Where do you live John? You would be surprised how common violent crime is in some areas. I actually don’t really worry too much about it myself. I happen to live in a very low crime area.
The question I asked is a legitimate one and you haven’t answered it. I’ll ask it again, who do you rely on for protection? It is a serious question and one that does not require paranoia to ask.

John, I thought leftists like yourself were against stereotypes?
Seriously though:
“I think it is more than reasonable for all hunting
rifles to be registered with the government, and all handguns and military style rifles (AR-15, AK-47 types) to be banned completely.”
And Hitler thought it was perfectly reasonable to send jews, slavs, and other to gas chambers. What you think is reasonable doesn’t matter. Facts matter and you haven’t provided a shred of evidence to support your opinion. So, I am calling bullshit on your opinion.

The old boy scout motto was “be prepared”. Too many people want to depend on everyone else but themselves..And these Godless people want us in the same bucket..Sorry Jon Doe, but I am secure and will fight to keep that security, the same way better men than I, who laid down their lives for that secutity, did. Your secutity comes from men who believed in God and the Constitution, which guarantees these rights..and many men gave their lives so you could drivel them away! Find out why we believe in these rights and why we fight for them. Check your historical facts and maybe listen to the Supreme Court arguments to find out more. Maybe you can not only understand but appreciate people who would arm themselves. Maybe you might learn this lesson before the day comes when your life might depend on them.

“A visiting lady once asked me if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said, “Well, I certainly hope it isn’t loaded!” To which I said, “Of course it’s loaded… can’t work without bullets!” She then asked, “Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?” My reply was, “No… not at all. I’m not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around. and they’re all loaded too. To which I’ll add… having a gun in the house that isn’t loaded, is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.”
That’s from the Black Bear Blog a while back. Thought it might apply here as well! And I know, security is spelled with an rrr.

Make sure you have at least windows media player 9.
Also, some people have reported not being able to watch it due to security settings on their computer.

Katrinka, that was a good link and an excellent and articulate speech by Alan Keyes…not that I’ve ever heard of him before, but maybe I’ll hear more in the future.I hope so. He’s worth watching for sure. His website sure comes down on Obama, which is understandable, considering how liberal Obama is….Seems like half the country is liberal these days, and the vote seems to swing either way some times..Look how close the last presidential election was…Keep your fingers crossed, but keep your votes going in…

Again, Alan Keyes serves up a meal you can sink your teeth into. He graciously avoided stating the obvious whereas by not owning a gun, you have placed your well-being into, or perhaps, onto the backs of those who do.
{p.s., My Charlton Heston}
Thanks Katrinka

Hey John Smith, remember that a Conservative is a former Liberal that was Mugged !!! Concealed Carry laws act as a deterrent to crime. The potential attacker does not know who does and who does not have a weapon. Kind of like a scenario where we told the Russians that we were a Nuclear Free Zone…. What dialect of Russian would we be speaking today ??? Dos Vidanya !!!

“10. We believe that intermarriage or race mixing should be prohibited. We want the religion of Islam taught without hindrance or suppression”
That is some insane racist rhetoric. I had never heard of Louis Farrakhan before, sounds like a real POS.

A Huge debate today, as a matter of fact, the Supreme Court has actually for the first time in the History of this debate, decided to hear both sides and interpret the meaning of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. So why is it that people would want to outlaw guns? I just don’t get it. You say guns kill people. WRONG!! The person who pulls the trigger is the one who makes the decision to shoot, nothing else. If we’re going to blame guns for murders, then i think we should start blaming our cars for speeding and our pencils for incorrect answers on tests.
Taking away our right to bear arms is like taking away our right to fight back. Criminals want unarmed victims and Dictators want disarmed citizens. Do you really think that if we outlaw guns, the crime will disappear with them? I think not. If a criminal has the desire for a gun, even if they’re outlawed, he’ll still find a way to make it happen. People smuggle so much stuff now days. So a criminal breaks into my house threatening me and my family. He’s threatening me and the people that I love. Then what? What are we supposed to do to defend ourselves? So you take away guns and take you way to fight back
As United States Citizens, our ownership of guns is what helped keep Russia from invading us in the past. Sure, they were a strong and powerful empire with the military capabilities necessary for conquering our military. But if they would’ve tried to come into the U.S. and fight the citizens to take over the country, they couldn’t have done it. The fact that we all owned guns showed that there was no way for them to take us over. We wouldn’t allow it. We, as a people defending a nation would’ve fought back and won.
So today, we have this debate. This “2-sided” argument.
But I can only see this: I see the productive benefits that come from having the right to bear arms will far out-weigh any complaint against this right. So please America, be reasonable, and think about this. Besides, Ted Kennedy’s car has killed more people than my gun ever will.
As a 16-year old, gun-owning, straight, white, high-school educated, politically informed, Christian Female, I am a Proud Supporter of the 2nd Amendment of the Constituion of the United States of America.

Glad to hear from you Amanda, makes me proud to think there are still young people like you out there. You’re the backbone of this country, you, and people like you! Stay the course, gal,(keep your faith, and your values)and never forget that that’s what’s holding this country together, and making it blessed by God. You must have had some good parents as well as made good directions in your life. Now, if we only had a thousand more like you! Maybe we do, and don’t know it. I truly hope so. At least you let us know that you are there! Thanks.

Update: Alan Keyes is still running for president. He is determined that voters have a Reagan-conservative, gun rights, strong borders, under God, fair tax, etc. candidate for whom to vote in November. There’s no one out there like that, so he is continuing on as an independent.
Petitions need to be circulated in many states. If everyone does a little to help, we can change this election.
