Romney Displays Trophy Kill, Laughing About Hunting Uproar

April 13, 2007

By now must of us know that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney made a bad decision when he told voters he had been a lifelong hunter and supported the Second Amendment. The truth, at least as far as can be told, was he hunted twice in his life, once at age 15 and again last year with a group of governors in Georgia. His claim was he hunted small game, nothing big.

Back peddling and searching for excuses, Romney tried to bail himself out unsuccessfully. Last night in Dallas at a speech, Romney tried to deflect attention away from his error by laughing about it and showing the audience his mounted trophy.

When will the politicians ever learn?

The only response, if you’re not smart enough to avoid saying stupid things in the first place, is to say when caught simply “I misspoke, here are the correct facts.” Then shut up. It really isn’t that difficult.

Also, another hint, anything that calls you a liar or casts doubt on your honesty is not good publicity. Whoever said “any publicity is good publicity” didn’t know anything about public relations. Bad publicity is bad, so don’t keep feeding the fire. I’m thinking Romney needs some new PR people.

And a psychological evaluations in regards to his view of how to get support!

Got something to say?
