Pennsylvania Deer Harvest Numbers Increase Slightly
March 16, 2007
The Pennsylvania Game Commission released numbers and statistics for the 2006-2007 deer hunting season. Total estimated deer harvested for this year is 361,560, up slightly from last year’s 354,390. There has been much controversy and heated discussion among hunters, game commission personnel and I think even the janitor down at the local high school, about how the PGC is managing the deer herd – even to the point of taking the PGC to court.
Here’s a look at the last seven seasons deer harvest results.
2006-2007 = 361,560
2005-2006 = 354,390
2004-2005 = 409,320
2003-2004 = 464,890
2002-2003 = 517,529 – all-time record high
2001-2002 = 486,014
2000-2001 = 504,600

Maybe you should have a look at this years buck harvest. 109,000 down from 135,000 last year. Worse yet, down from 6-7 years ago when it was over 200,000!
The herd is in ruins. Thank you Pennsylvania game commission! Idiots.

Allot to digest here if you care to look into it. Click on the link and check it out.
If it’s all a waste of time they are sure putting a ton of effort into it. Allot of big college words in the reports and graphs and charts and stuff.
I was trying to figure out if more hunters are staying home? just giving it up.
We are getting to be a bunch of old guys; OA, sore feet and backs, overweight, got no wind left cause we smoke and drink too much. Didn’t see as many of us out there this past season. Heck, felt like I had the place to myself. Many of the camps in the area were empty! Less hunters = Fewer deer taken. just a thought?
