Florida Extending Gator Hunting Season

May 16, 2006

I don’t have any details at this time but one report coming out of Orlando this morning says that Florida Fish and Wildlife officials have extended the hunting season on alligators in an attempt to reduce the number of gators across the state. This announcement comes on the heels of three women killed by alligators in Florida in two days.

Florida is in the middle of alligator mating season and it is during this time their behaviour is extremely agressive. Officials are warning people to be on the lookout.
